There is a new series on the National Geographic channel called Doomsday Preppers. There is a woman who has stored literally tons of food in her home in preparation for a financial collapse. A man who has prepared for a solar flare that will wipe out the entire electrical grid of the United States, and many others. I can’t help but find the series intriguing and sadly reflective of our society today. We prepare for things that ultimately will pass away anyway, and give little to no thought to the things that will matter eternally.
When evil in the country is rampant, some of it government approved and supported evil (see: Abortion), we WILL suffer consequences. How severe those consequences are remains in God‘s hands. My main concern for these people on this show is, let’s say the worst does happen: A solar flare hits, the economy collapses and a deadly virus begins to spread. Let’s say somehow these people miraculously survive that. How much longer do they have? MAYBE 30 years? What will happen when they finally do perish? What if they aren’t prepared to meet God?
My point is this: We will ALL die and face judgement one day (Hebrews 9:27). That is the UNIVERSAL doomsday. That day we will see Jesus Christ and have to face Him and give an account for all of the sins that we have committed (Lying, Lusting, Hating, Idolizing etc.). What can we possibly do or say to Him to justify these things and avoid hell? Nothing (Isaiah 64:6). That is why it is SO vital for us all to repent (turn away from our sins) and believe in Jesus Christ before our doomsday arrives.
I pray that the most valued things in these preppers kits is a Bible, sound theology and a worship of the true God of the scriptures.
God bless you,
Kneel

We should be prepared in a spiritual way for the end of this world. No one knows the day, hour, or time of the end, Where we will go does not require a physical preparedes but a purity of mind, spirit, and heart. The first thing we should put in our preparedness kit is the word of God, and faith along with some rations of food and water. God will provide us with the rest. Amen,
Amen to that sister. : )
